What Is Happening?

Watching Chelsea play aginst Liverpool last night did not make pleasant viewing. It was an agonising game to watch simply because we were being beaten by a terrible side.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we deserved to win the game. But Liverpool certainly didn't. They came here with the intention of getting a draw. But the plan went wrong somewhere and they ended up getting all three points courtesy of their one shot on target beating Carlo!

What really riled me though, apart from our performance, was the officiating. Not only did the linesmen get countless offside decisions wrong, but one linesman actually contribued to the wrongful sending off of Diouf. And the ref himself, Steve Dunn, seemed to bottle it. He got so many decisions wrong and, crucially, failed to spot Hyypia climbing all over Mutu in the area.

And what of the two managers? Well, both of them are barking mad. Just listening to their post match comments made me cringe- was I watching the same match as them??

Gerard Houllier claimed his side made Chelsea look "ordinary". No Gerard, we did a good enough job of that ourselves. Face facts Ged, you're side sat back for 90 minutes and scored on a lucky break. Even though we were well below par, we had chances to win the game.

And Claudio Ranieri had claimed he was happy because his Chelsea side played to their maximum and gave their all. I'm sorry but if that is giving their all then we have a lot to worry about.

Claudio was locked in a meeting with Roman Abramovich for 40 minutes after the game. But he seemed too calm in the post match press conference for there to have been any threat to his job. They're probably working out which striker we should sign this month...
