Despite his goalscoring antics this term, Carlton has often found himself thrust firmly into the shadows by Everton's Wayne Rooney. Yet the facts speak for themselves: this season, Carlton has scored 5 times in just 11 appearances (mostly as sub), whilst Rooney has an unimpressive 7 from 30 appearances.
It's actually better that Rooney receives all the plaudits, as it will give Carlton less of the limelight- allowing him to purely concentrate on his football.
Here's what Franco had to say about Carlton Cole on ChelseaTV, "Saturday's winner was special and scored by a special player because Carlton is doing very well.
"As long as he keeps his attitude and working hard like he's doing, he can really become an important player."
