Fulham Groundshare Revived

The initial rumours failed to get off the ground when it was announced that the lease of Stamford Bridge allows just one team to play it's home games there... But, with Loftus Road secured as Fulham's home next season, it would give them an additional year to put their case to the council.

Personally, I think Fulham playing at our ground could be a blessing in disguise- if Bates can get a decent amount from Al Fayed for the groundshare then it will make our financial footing a bit more secure.

On the downside, it would be our old rivals calling The Bridge their home- not to mention the effects it could have on the pitch. This is a pitch that requires a lot (and I mean a lot) of work during the summer as the groundstaff attempt to sort out it's problems. For the past two seasons it has been in a shocking state by the new year and then required re-turfing- all unnecessary money going out the door.

Even with all this work done on it, could they guarantee that the pitch could withstand nearly 40 games in a season- and that's not even including the cups!

For now, I can't see anything happening in the groundshare saga but it's one of those stories that doesn't want to go away...
