Wenger is 'humble' in victory

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was as sanguine as every following his side's 3-5 win at Stanford bridge,

'I was unhappy when they scored their third,' said Wenger. 'But the guys just kept on going. we needed to win here.

It was a good team performance. we came out in the second half with belief. We were better defensively and played better.

'We always looked dangerous throughout the whole game - I hope we get stronger.

'Robin Van Persie is on fire, but we attack a lot and create many chances. but he is an exceptional talent.

'We gave them too much space at the back but we did get forward too. Sometimes you get your rewards.

'Until now Chelsea did not look open - very secure. Maybe our quality opened them up a bit.

'But we must remain humble. And we need to make ground up on the leaders.

'The win should make us more confident.

'I have young players, Ramsey and Wilshere are still 19 and they will get better.. 'Winning is a great habit. It's the best habit in my job.

'We are more consistent and we have to do it all again on Tuesday [in the Champions League].

Wenger does not know why so many goals are going in between top sides. 'Perhaps it is down to there being more offensive players in the league, maybe the top teams are a bit more fragile defensively.

'We won't know for sure for a couple of more months yet,' he concluded.
