Chelsea have confirmed that Tammy Abraham has left the club and signed for AS Roma.
The England international had fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge after Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in January.
He was linked with a move to a number of sides this summer, and 90min understands he turned down interest from Premier League clubs in order to seal a move to Jose Mourinho's Roma.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said in a statement: "Tammy will always be welcomed back at Stamford Bridge as one of our own. We have all enjoyed watching his progress through our Academy and into the first-team squad, and are grateful for his contribution to our successes at senior and youth level.
"His many goals in a Chelsea shirt and, of course, his part in our Champions League triumph last season will never be forgotten. I’m sure all Chelsea supporters will join me in wishing Tammy a long and successful career."
Chelsea have installed a buy-back clause worth around £75m into the deal, which will become active from 2023 onwards.
Abraham will take the number nine shirt at the Stadio Olimpico following the departure of Edin Dzeko to Inter.
He becomes Roma's sixth summer signing. Dallas' Bryan Reynolds and Atalanta's Roger Ibanez were first through the door after initial loan moves were made permanent, and they were shortly followed by Wolves and Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
Uzbek forward Eldor Shomurodov has signed from Serie A side Genoa, and Uruguayan defender Matias Vina joined just up with his new teammates in the Italian capital recently.
Chelsea, meanwhile, splashed out a club record fee of £97.5m in order to bring back Romelu Lukaku last week, and they also maintain an interest in Sevilla defender Jules Kounde. However, the France international's release clause has increased by €10m as we enter the final two weeks of the summer transfer window.
