Premier League team of the week 2021/22 - round 7

Gameweek 7 of the 2021/22 Premier League season is in the books, but before we jet off for the international break it's time to pick a team of the week.

On what was a quiet matchday for central strikers, we had goals from all over the shop, with players from every position stepping up to create the highlights and lead their teams to victory.

Here's 90min's best XI from this weekend's action.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Alisson (GK) - Liverpool had Alisson to thank for keeping them in the game against Man City. He made a couple of excellent saves and gave his team the chance to earn a point.

Emerson Royal (RB) - Finally looking like the expensive star he was billed as, Emerson had a brilliant showing as Tottenham snapped their losing streak against Aston Villa.

Diego Llorente (CB) - On his return from injury, not only did Llorente grab a goal but he was in inspired form at the back to earn Leeds their first win of the season.

Trevoh Chalobah (CB) - Another goal for Chalobah, who was equally as impressive in defence as Chelsea saw off Southampton.

Marc Cucurella (LB) - The first person to really scare Takehiro Tomiyasu in England. Cucurella was a constant menace down the left against Arsenal.

2. Midfielders

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) - The Dane stepped up and gave Tottenham's defence the shield they needed against Villa, and he even added a crucial goal for good measure.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM) - Completely dominated Man Utd's midfield and secured the all-important assist to earn Everton a point.

Bernardo Silva (CM) - Silva has been outstanding as a central midfielder this season and was on top form against Liverpool. Made an excellent run and had Virgil van Dijk in a spin cycle.

3. Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) - The best player in the Premier League right now. Easy. His goal against City was unreal.

Phil Foden (ST) - Sharing the Man of the Match award with Salah was Foden, who danced through Liverpool's defence with real ease.

Hwang Hee-chan (LW) - Two excellent goals to fire Wolves to victory over Newcastle. His partnership with Raul Jimenez is one to watch.
