Niklas Sule's agent reveals defender has chosen new club

Niklas Sule's agent has revealed the Bayern Munich defender has decided which club he wants to join once his contract with the German giants expires in the summer.

It was recently revealed that Sule would not extend his stay in Bavaria, having joined the club in 2017. 90min understands he has been targeted by Chelsea, who are in danger of seeing Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen all leave once their contracts run out.

While he refrained from naming the exact team, Sule's agent Volker Struth admitted his client's next destination has been finalised.

He said: “The new club has already been decided. Niklas has made a decision and I would be surprised if he changed his mind."

Newcastle have been touted as a potential destination for the former Hoffenheim centre-back, although Struth rejected those links.

He added: "I think I would have a problem if we were to announce in a few days that the player would move to Newcastle and I'm sitting here explaining that the money isn't the priority."

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann revealed before the 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig on Saturday that Sule had informed him of his decision and that there was no ill feeling between the two.

He said: "Niklas came to me and said: 'Coach, I'm going.' It's relatively simple when something like that happens. I would have liked to keep him, that's why he plays a lot because I still see a lot in him.

"I know Niki's reasons, but they remain between us. We have had an open conversation and there is absolutely nothing between us. I'm just as curious as you about where he will go and how happy and satisfied he will be at his new station."
