Marseille aiming to beat Chelsea & Man Utd to Jonathan Clauss

Marseille are trying to fend off late interest from Chelsea and Manchester United in the race to sign wing-back Jonathan Clauss, 90min understands.

The Frenchman had a stellar season with Lens in Ligue 1 last year, scoring five goals and registering 11 assists, and has managed to break into Didier Deschamps' squad with the World Cup on the horizon.

The 29-year-old is in demand and 90min understands he would like to complete a move to Marseille, who secured Champions League qualification on the final day of last season.

However, Chelsea and Man Utd have both registered an interest in Clauss, while Atletico Madrid are also keen on him. Lens' asking price stands at around €10m.

Chelsea and Man Utd are both scouring the market for reinforcements at right-back and have spoken to Barcelona regarding USMNT star Sergino Dest.

The 21-year-old wants to stay at Camp Nou, but with Barça hoping to bring in Cesar Azpilicueta from the Blues, his days in Catalonia could be numbered. Both English clubs are being kept informed of Dest's availability.
