Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has lauded his players' mentality after they fought back from two goals down to earn a -2 draw at Newcastle.
The Blues looked to be heading for defeat after two early goals from Newcastle’s Nick Woltemade stunned the visitors.
However, a stunning second-half free-kick from Reece James and a calm finish from Joao Pedro secured a point for Chelsea.
Maresca admitted today that while he was disappointed with the first-half performance, the response in a hostile environment at St James' Park showed exactly the kind of character he wants to see from his squad moving forward.
