Manu Hoping to Stay

As with many French players, Manu revealed his intentions to the French newspaper L'Equipe.

Here's what Manu had to say: "My contract with Chelsea is over in June. Several clubs, French and foreign, are interested in me and have inquired about me.

"My priority is Chelsea as long as Chelsea want me. I don't know what my future is. My only conviction is I am always good for football. I see myself playing for two more years.''

Manu also spoke about his comeback from a serious knee injury that has sideleined him for most of the season, saying "It usually takes me two or three games before recovering my potential, the rhythm of competition.

When Ranieri said to me he would like me to play against Scarborough, I told him that it is better for me to start the second half because have been injured for a long time. He respected my choice.'

"Ranieri is superb. He always asked me how I was.''

As for this season's objective: "The objective is to win the championship, we have the potential to succeed. Abramovich is very excited by football and he comes to the training ground to see us.

"I think he wants more than second place. In February we have important matches. If we could reduce the gap with Arsenal before playing them on February 21 then everything is possible."
