Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has confessed Romelu Lukaku would be a huge signing for Chelsea, with the Blues close to landing the Inter striker in a club-record deal.
Having seen a £97.5m fee agreed between the two clubs, Lukaku will undergo his medical on Sunday - ten years to the day since the medical for his first move to Chelsea back in 2011.
It's a move that understandably has Chelsea fans pretty excited, and speaking to TNT Sports, Jorginho confessed he was just as excited about linking up with the Belgian.
“A player like Lukaku, who has been doing great, was a champion in Italy, for sure is a player who would contribute a lot," he said.
"Anyone who comes to contribute would be worth it. Let’s see what happens next."
Chelsea's hope is to bring Lukaku in in time for Wednesday's Super Cup against Europa League winners Villarreal. Should he be registered by Tuesday night, he would be eligible to play.
To add to the written-in-the-stars vibe of this whole thing, Lukaku's last kick of a ball for Chelsea was in the 2013 Super Cup, in which he missed the penalty that handed the trophy to Bayern Munich.
The Lukaku deal could kick-start a transfer merry-go-round that may involve Tammy Abraham, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the summer comes to an end.
Atalanta are interested in the 23-year-old and have a meeting scheduled with Chelsea on Monday to discuss signing Abraham, who they see as a potential replacement for Inter target Duvan Zapata.
Abraham has also attracted interest from Arsenal, Aston Villa and West Ham, but his £40m price tag has scared off every side apart from Atalanta as it stands.
The money raised from selling Abraham would help replenish Chelsea's transfer kitty and fund a move for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, who is the next man on Thomas Tuchel's target list.
