From also rans to treble chasers

Gawd Blimmy, I've only being out of the country for a couple of weeks and the Blues propel themselves from also rans into triple-title chasers.
And before some wag decides I should head back to sunny Spain, let me tell you, I'm here till the season ends.
Having said that, staying in a Spanish household that had a dodgy satellite system meant that I did not have access to Chelsea's victories over Bolton, Liverpool at Anfield or The FA Cup win over Arsenal.
My single live viewing was of the incredible 4-4 draw at the Bridge against the Scousers.
Mind, I was subjected to a barrage of texts keeping me informed of the other matches.

How my heart sank when we went one-nil against Liverpool and Arsenal and my anger and frustration grew by the second as Bolton chipped away at our four-nil advantage.
But, despite everything it was an incredibly successful set of games.
Tomorrow's match against Everton brings the added dimension of the cliche-driven FA Cup Final rehearsal.
The boys need to win, simple as that.
If Arsenal overhaul Liverpool tonight, it will give the Gunners the chance to get three points closer to us for third place in the league.
Ideally we want a draw from that match and for Manchester United to discover the Old Trafford pitch to be suddenly "dead" or "spongy" so the likes of Scholes, Beba and Shek sit out a defeat to Portsmouth.
We can but hope.
But the past two weeks have proved that when hope is required, sometimes it actually delivers.

C'mon the Blues.
