On his way? Mancienne is set for a Stamford Bridge exit

Mancienne, who is set to arrive in Germany on Tuesday, has failed to break into the Chelsea first team and even spent the last three seasons on loan at Wolves.

However with the opportunity of a move to Molineux having fallen through, Arnesen has jumped at the opportunity to snap up the England U21 star.

Also on Hamburg's radar is fellow defender Jeffrey Bruma, who is highly regarded. The centre-back has even been capped at senior level for the Netherlands.

However with Chelsea having recently splashed out ?20.3m on Brazilian David Luiz, Bruma's chances of breaking into the senior side look even slimmer.

Arnesen is also keen on Gael Kakuta who was sent out on loan in January to west-London neighbours Fulham.
