Forssell Loan Deal

Forssell has been out for the best part of 9 months with a knee injury but made a return for the reserves on Tuesday, scoring in the loss to Charlton.

But he is far from being ready for the pace of the Premiership and, with Chelsea having 4 strikers fit and raring to go, the logical thing was to loan out Forssell.

But unlike when he was loaned to Crystal Palace a few years back to gain experience, this is purely to regain his scoring touch.

"I chose Monchengladbach from many candidates that wanted me," Forssell was quoted as saying by the Finnish news agency STT. "I know the team well and value its outstanding traditions.

"We have agreed on things with [Chelsea] manager Claudio Ranieri. After the loan period I will move back to Chelsea."

The move will be made official as soon as Mikael passes a medical.
