Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has further slammed claims Erling Haaland is under pressure to sort out his future – going as far as to call it 'bulls**t'.
The in-demand Haaland created a stir recently when he told a TV reporter that BVB were putting 'a lot of pressure' on him to decide what his next steps are.
Every big club in Europe is chasing the free-scoring striker, who is understood to have a £63m release clause in his contract that becomes active in the summer.
Despite this, Dortmund are still holding out hope of keeping him at the club beyond the end of the next season and have offered to make him their highest-paid player ever. Haaland is yet to make his intentions clear to BVB but Watzke rubbished the player's claims that he was being rushed into a decision.
"Saying that Borussia would give Erling an ultimatum is bulls**t. There's no deadline," he told ARD.
In the same interview Watzke also went on to reiterate that if Haaland does depart, they would reinvest his transfer fee in a new striker – with Anthony Martial and Timo Werner among those linked in the past.
The Dortmund CEO's sweary proclamation comes just a few days after sporting director Sebastien Kehl also denied Haaland's claims.
"I was surprised by what Erling said after the game," Kehl said recently.
"It is clear that his comments have caused an uproar. There is no decision yet. I'll take the opportunity in the next few days to ask what is bothering him and why he felt the need to talk about pressure after the game because I don't see things that way."
