Chelsea rubbish talk of Alex fee agreement

Chelsea has not agreed terms for the transfer of Alex to QPR.

A Chelsea spokesman confirmed to Chelsea-Mad that reports suggesting the two clubs had agreed a fee were "inaccurate". QPR are still keen to land the Brazil centre-back and have lodged a fee for Alex.

"QPR have been in contact offering a fee," said the spokesman.

"But the club has not agreed anything at this stage."

Before Alex has to make any decision about his future Chelsea has to agree a transfer fee with any club. Once that is done, the player is free to speak to the club about personal terms.

QPR will have to up their offer, believed to be £3m for Alex before Chelsea will enter serious talks.

Chelsea will be hoping a fee closer to £6m will come from The Hoops.

That will offset most of the £7m paid out to Bolton Wanderers for the services if Gary Cahill who came through a successful medical today and will be officially announced as a Chelsea player on Monday. The hold-up is simply a case of paperwork needing to be signed and sealed.
