Chelsea look to sign Brazilian striker ahead of Arsenal clash

Former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato looks set to seal a move to Stamford Bridge any time this week after a stint in Brazil with Corinthians

Reports suggest the deal is to be hastened mainly due to the shin injury suffered by Diego Costa in the weekends draw against Everton

Even before now, the deal seemed well on track with the player's agent having already met with Chelsea officials in the past week

A fee in the region of £10 million is thought to have been agreed though some news outlets are speaking of a loan move with an option to buy depending on the quality of performances.

The player seems awfully keen on a move as he has already made contact with Willian and third choice keeper Marco Armelia probably enquiring on how it is to play for Chelsea and general life in England.

Ideally, Pato would play on the left side of attack but given Chelsea's struggle for a central figure in the absence of Costa, the Brazilian would probably assume a more central position

A new face may be what the Blues need to somehow save their incredibly woeful season.
