Bolton earned draw - Ranieri

He said: "I think we lost two points but I also think that by the end Bolton deserved to draw.

"But when you score and they equalise and then you go ahead again it's hard when they equalise for a second time."

Chelsea had to make do without leading scorer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who had a hip and shoulder injury but Ranieri added: "We hope he will be back very quickly."

Ranieri made special mention of Mikael Forssell who scored with his first touch after coming on as substitute for his first league game of the season.

"It was fantastic for his confidence because it is always difficult to play well when you start. Hopefully this should be very important for him for the future."
