The time has come to sort out the problem. MD Trevor Birch said, "Chelsea like to play the ball on the floor, but now it's not possible.
"The pitch can change everything and we may have to be more direct. I imagine the pitch will be like a swimming pool!"
He went on to say that the work on the pitch will cost the club a cool £100,000 but it is just a short term resolution to the pitch problem. It is not the first time that the pitch has been in such a state and the club are looking at ways to sort out the pitch in the long term.
In this day and age, I would expect there to be a solution but only time will tell...
