History of the West Ham United v Chelsea fixture

Chelsea pack their bags to visit West Ham United at Boleyn Ground at lunchtime on Monday, needing to turn around their fortunes at the ground. The Blues will be hoping to improve upon a record which has seen them ending up on the losing side in more than half of the games played between the two.

The previous match played between the two at Boleyn Ground was within the last three years, in May 2003, the Hammers carving out a narrow 1 - 0 victory in a Premiership match.

Recent respective form guides

West Ham United have managed to pick up just two wins from their last six home games, losing three, While Hammers have scored 6, a worringly large 9 have been leaked at the other end.

The away form of Chelsea however, is much more impressive, picking up four victories from the last six. Just 7 goals have scored in these games, though to be fair only a measly 2 have been let in at the wrong end.

West Ham Utd.'s 26 points from 20 games sees them lie inside the top half of the table, in 10th position. Chelsea are currently sitting proudly at the top of the entire league, having collected 55 points from the 20 games played.
