Reasons to be cheerful

Last updated : 01 July 2013 By Moses Asamaigor

The 2012/2013 season is long gone and the dust has finally settled, we can now go a week without hearing what a total waste of money Torres was and the transfer window opened officially today (yipee!). The former is enough reason to be happy while the latter brings with it a sense of anticipation. Below i highlight why all chelsea fans should be filled with joy.

The chelsea hating prophets of doom all saw Mr abrahamovic getting bored and ditching chelsea within a year or two of him buying the club in 2003, 10 years laters and his romance with chelsea remains strong.

Admit it, with Sir alex's retirement, even die-hard chelsea haters would be happy to have someone with the charisma to keep the english premier league in the limelight. Many a chelsea fan must have gotten drunk the day it was confirmed the "happy one" was back. No matter how much you hate him, mourinho equals trophies.

Not many people need an excuse to hate chelsea but over time they have pointed to us having the oldest squad in the league, to us playing boring football and to our perceived lack of trust in younger players. Last season saw an increased influx of youngsters into the team with Oscar, hazard and Moses all playing starring roles. The likes of Nathaniel Ake and Betrand were also given the chance to shine. Now with chelsea and mourinho recalling the likes of Lukaku and De bruyne and looking at signing more young players, the future looks bright.

I will be te first to admit how devastated i was when chelsea was mauled by a Radamel Falcao inspired athletico madrid in the european super cup. i was depressed for days but now thanks to us winning the europa league we have a shot at claiming the cup. Forget the fact we have to beat Bayern to get it, we can and WILL do it.

Sir alex is gone, as is Mancini and i couldn't be happier. The reason the manchester clubs have gotten one over us in the recent past is the instability due to constant managerial change but seeing as our strongest rivals are in the same both as we are and we have the best of all the new managers i feel the premier league is ours for the taking.

So what do you chelsea fans think? Why are you happy to be a chelsea fan?
