Player Ratings: Fulham (a)

Last updated : 15 November 2004 By Liam Corbett
Petr Cech - Didn't have a lot to do. Tipped one tame second half effort over and had no chance with the Diop goal. 8

Paulo Ferreira - Made a couple of runs forward but doesn't offer enough attacking wise. Solid at the back. 7

John Terry - Immense as ever. Unlucky to miss after taking on five Fulham players and nearly beating Crossley! Won everything at the back and showed his thanks to the fans by bringing the whole team over at the end. Top bloke! 9

Ricardo Carvalho - Shacky start but settled down and put in a great showing. Looking more and more a world class defender. 8

William Gallas - Took his goal well and looked the most comfortable he ever has playing at left back. The trio of him, Tex and Carvalho look so composed at the back, its no wonder we have only let in 4 goals in the Premiership all season! 8

Alexey Smertin - Hurried Fulham into mistakes and never gave up. Again, proves he will run all day for the side. Withdrawn for Tiago in second half. 7

Frank Lampard - Superb strike for his goal. Flew like a rocket passed Crossley. Played great simple passes all day and spread play well to both Robben and Duff. 8

Claude Makelele - Caught out a couple of times in pocession but all in all played well. Did his usual simple passing and was always available to help people out of awkward situations. 7

Damien Duff - Ran well and worked hard, but it never really happened for Duff yesterday. Robben ws given the left sided role and Duff looked a tad uncomfortable away from the left. Still casued Fulham problems and the defenders certainly won't be looknig forward to the Carling Cup match! 7

Arjen Robben - Does he just get better and better? Looks world class, up there with the greats. A joy to watch. Took his goal superbly, leaving 2 Fulham players on their backsides ni the process. A menace to Volz all day. 10

Eidur Gudjohnsen - Missed one brilliant chance in first half and was taken off late on for Kezman. Didn't get another look in in front of goal, but was a decent target man and held up ball well with his close control. 7

The Fans! - Some great songs, new and old, heard loud and clear from our Putney end! After Mourinho asking for a more vocal support the Chelsea fans were heard loud and proud! 10
