Andriy Shevchenko and Shaun Wright-Phillips fired Chelsea into the semi-finals of the FA Cup and made Tottenham pay for throwing away a 3-1 lead in the first tie at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho says his side are good enough to win the quadruple come the end of the season and this latest victory keeps them on course to achieve the unthinkable.

Chelsea certainly do things the hard way and will point to an amazing comeback in the first game as their inspiration in reaching the semi-finals.

Despite Tottenham's amazing home record this season, Shevchenko showed all his class to put Chelsea into the lead and Wright-Phillips fired a stunning shot past Paul Robinson to set the Premiership champions on their way.

Robbie Keane scored a late penalty to set up a dramatic finish, but Chelsea held on to book a place against Blackburn Rovers in the last four of the competition.

All eyes were on the in-form Dimitar Berbatov and he almost got on the scoresheet again after just six minutes.

Steed Malbranque's cross picked out the Bulgarian international whose close-range header produced a fine save from Chelsea keeper Petr Cech.

Michael Ballack came even closer to breaking the deadlock for Chelsea just 60 seconds later.

Didier Drogba chested the ball into the path of the German midfielder who fired the ball just past the post.

Wright-Phillips was desperate to prove a point on his rare inclusion in the Chelsea side and had Robinson worried in the Tottenham goal when his blistering 25-yard drive flew inches over the bar on 17 minutes.

The first half was a tight affair with chances at a premium for both teams.

But the game erupted into life after the break and Tottenham had a golden chance to take the lead on 49 minutes.

Jermaine Jenas' corner was headed on by Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard into the path of Pascal Chimbonda.

Chimbonda found himself unmarked in the box but saw his low shot well saved by Cech.

The home side were made to pay when Shevchenko fired Chelsea into the lead on 55 minutes.

The Ukraine striker cut inside Malbranque before striking an unstoppable shot which flew past Robinson into the top left-hand corner for his 12th goal of the season.

Things went from bad to worse for Tottenham when Wright-Phillips added a second on the hour-mark.

Ashley Cole's high ball over the top of the Tottenham defence picked out Drogba, who chested the ball into Wright-Phillips and he made no mistake firing a left-foot shot past Robinson into the corner of the net.

Tottenham were handed a lifeline when Keane tucked away a penalty on 79 minutes.

Berbatov was brought down inside the area by Ricardo Carvalho and the Spurs skipper made no mistake sending Cech the wrong way.

But Chelsea held on and Mourinho could yet end the season winning the FA Cup, Champions League and Premiership to add his Carling Cup success.
