Blackburn 2 Chelsea 3

The Blues got off to a nightmare start, just as we did at the Bridge against Rovers, conceding a goal after just three minutes. Carlo Cudicini initially made an outstanding save from Douglas' header but the defence failed to clear the ball. Michael Gray swung a deep ball in and Flitcroft volleyed in from a Markus Babbel knock down.

The goal only served to spur Chelsea forward and after a couple of chances went begging we managed to pull ourselves level. Jimmy got himself free down the right and his centre was clipped past Friedel by Frank Lampard with 25 minutes on the clock.

Ten minutes later, and we were in front. Tugay squandered possession deep in his own half and Manu Petit hit a first time ball to send Lampard through. In this sort of form, Frank doesn't miss and he took one touch before slotting it home for his seventh Premiership goal of the season.

After the break, Chelsea should have added to their tally but for some poor finishing and some great goalkeeping. And it looked like they'd blown the lead when Gallagher turned home a Mahon cross- fortunately, the linesman flagged for offside.

But Gallagher was not be denied. He equalised with just four minutes remaining after some shocking defending from JT and Bridge as they both allowed the ball to bounce in the box. Just minutes prior to the equaliser, Lampard thought he had scored his hat trick and he would've done but for a save of the season candidate from Friedel.

If you thought Chelsea had defended badly for the Rovers equaliser, Blackburn fans would have been tearing their hair out at the defending from their team. Chelsea won a late corner which was whipped in by Mutu. The ball was cleared to the edge of the box and JT had chance to nick it to Johnson. The ball then spun up in the air but Johnson was given the time and space to bring it down before smashing in a fantastic winner!!

We deserved the three points, but Claudio will be alarmed at how close we came to blowing it!
