Zola has failed to recover from a thigh injury while Desailly sustained an ankle problem during France's international with Czechoslovakia on Wednesday.

Manager Ranieri said: "These are two big blows not having them available."

Disappointing as these injuries are, at least the pairings of Terry/Gallas and Eidur/Jimmy will again be allowed the chance to prove their worth.
