You're The Juan That I Want

Claudio Ranieri has hailed under-fire midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron as the key to Chelsea's Champions League dreams.

Veron never really settled at Manchester United, and didn't really find a consistant run of form at Chelsea, after his debut goal at Anfield.

However, since working on his fitness non stop for about 2 weeks, Veron is starting to find the impressive form he was known for at Lazio. As it would happen, his last two impressive performances came against Lazio in the Champions League, with an overall two leg score of 6-1 in Chelsea's favour!

Veron was in top form on Tuesday at Lazio, with his dead ball skills causing all sorts of difficulties for the dodgy Lazio keeper.

Following his terrific showing in Lazio, coach Claudio Ranieri had a few words to say.

Ranieri said: "I know Seba very well and I believe he can improve again. Remember also, in the first leg against Lazio, he played very well too.

"Now he's working hard. He's used to working hard and he said to me 'look, I want to work more'. I said 'okay'.

"It's important for everybody to understand his movement. He has a long range on the pitch and it's important that his team-mates understand him and he understands them. He's like the playmaker.

"I said before the game that we should understand when it was possible to keep possession of the ball and when it was better to go directly and try to score.

"We did this very well. Sometimes there were long balls across the pitch from Veron to Mutu, sometimes from Veron to Duff and sometimes from Veron to Crespo. But everything starts from Veron.

"He can change the face of the match because he has a very good vision, while Claude Makelele and Frank Lampard are linking very well with him. That is important too.''
