Wenger Slates Roman

Wenger, known for being a shrewd purchaser in the transfer market, is angry at the way that Chelsea can afford any player. Would he complaining if the shoe was on the other foot? I think not!

Wenger revealed: "Who can compete with Chelsea? They go out first and buy what they want, then everyone else comes in, so it's very difficult to compete.

"In some ways they have destroyed the market - they can say yes to what they want to say yes to. It has somewhat destabilised the market."

Another way of looking at it is that Chelsea have reinvigorated the transfer market. By spending so much money, a huge chunk of which has gone to English clubs, we are allowing other teams to have a chance to compete at the highest level. It's not our fault that Arsenal won't sell us Henry or Vieira!
