The performance at Goodison Park on Sunday was clearly not good enough and another draw see us in 7th place in the Premiership.
Only one defeat all season but just four wins and three of them against the bottom three is already telling us that we look as though we could be also rans again this season.
It's not just the fans unhappy at some of the abject performances, Gianfranco Zola has also spoken out now about the first half performance against Everton. He admits to being concerned that some players are going missing in games. There's one thing for certain at this level, if a couple of players go hiding then there will not be too many good results.
Zola said, “All of the players have to take their responsibility for the performance and I will take my responsibility because I should have scored from a chance. If we want to be at the top of the league then we have to give something better. Our first-half was very disappointing and it's not the way that a team that wants to win the league should be playing.
"We deserved to win from our second-half performance because we were miles better in the second-half. But we cannot afford to play like we did in the first-half and all of the players have to think about their performance."
Having just won his place in the side goalkeeper Mark Bosnich will now be out of the side for around six weeks with the thigh injury sustained at Everton. It could be sooner if there is no tear but it is thought that it is torn.
