WBA 1 Chelsea 1

Last updated : 11 February 2014 By Paul Lagan

Chelsea dropped two vital Premier league points tonight as they could only draw 1-1 against lowly WBA at the Hawthorns.

Branislav Ivanovic gave the visitors the lead on the stroke of half time when David Luiz flicked on a set-piece cross and the Serbia defender smashed home on the bounce.

He scored the winner against title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium eight days ago and for the most of the second half it looked like his goal was going to be the winner again.

But with three minutes of the match remaining and confusion as to whether Gary Cahill should have stayed on the pitch following an injury, Saido Berahino crossed in from the left and Victor Anichebe got ahead Luiz and Petr Cech to flick a header in off the bottom of the post.

The Blues were comfortable for most of the game, but looked seriously tired in the final third.

They remain top of the league with 57 points with Arsenal behind on 55 points and Man City third on 54 points.

However by the end of tomorrow night they could be back to third if the north Londoners and City win their matches.
