New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly will look to put the hiring-firing culture of the Roman Abramovich era in the past now that his takeover of the club is complete, according to a report.
Boehly's purchase of the club was officially announced on Monday after Premier League and government approval was granted last week, bringing to an end Abramovich's 19 years of stewardship.
While it is hard to argue with results on the pitch and a brimming trophy cabinet, the oligarch's tenure was characterised by ruthless short-termism as he pulled the trigger whenever the going got tough.
Current Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel is the 13th and final manager of that reign, with no-one lasting more than three years since Jose Mourinho's first spell in charge between 2004 and 2007.
However, according to The Athletic, Boehly's arrival will also usher in a new philosophy in that regard. The new ownership group hold Tuchel in very high regard and have the 'general aim' of ending the previous culture of hiring and firing.
The report adds that Tuchel will be given the opportunity to surpass Mourinho's three-year stint.
It had been reported that the German tactician would be handed a £200m war chest this summer to strengthen several areas of the squad, although that is not said to be a guaranteed sum and much may depend on player sales.
As previously revealed by 90min, Sevilla defender Jules Kounde is likely to be the first face through the door. 90min also understands young centre-back Josko Gvardiol is on Chelsea's radar, although their interest in the RB Leipzig man is only at an early stage.
Frenchmen Ousmane Dembele and Christopher Nkunku have been linked as potential attacking options, with Chelsea having planned talks with the former once the takeover was complete.
