Thomas Tuchel 'concerned' about Chelsea's top-four chances after Wolves draw

Thomas Tuchel has admitted that he is growing increasingly concerned about Chelsea's chances of finishing in the Premier League top four after the Blues' miserable run of form continued with a 2-2 draw against Wolves on Saturday.

A double from the returning Romelu Lukaku had Chelsea in the driver's seat for the majority of the game, but the Blues capitulated in the final 11 minutes as Francisco Trincao struck from range and Conor Coady completed the comeback six minutes into added time.

Chelsea remain in third place and will still finish the weekend there, although Arsenal can close the gap to just one point if they beat Leeds on Sunday and Tottenham aren't too far behind either - six behind Chelsea with a game in hand.

While their fate still remains in their own hands, Tuchel admitted he is still sweating over his side's ability to get over the line.

"If you don't win, of course you have to be concerned [about being caught for third place]," he said after the game. "But you have to concentrate on your own results and the only focus is on us."

When asked where his side went wrong against Wolves, Tuchel admitted the players fail to deal with the pressure of seeing out the game.

"I thought we started both halves well with an offensive 5-3-2," he began.

"We knew about the risks and we needed to be disciplined. We showed discipline over most moments in the first half, but in some situations we took too many risks. That cost us some dangerous moments at the end of the first half.

"I reminded the players at half-time to stick to the plan. We were 2-0 up and yet again we took too many risks. We invited the counter-attacks and big chances. Once you do this, you lose confidence and invite the opponents to smell something is possible when it's unnecessary.

"It's not about dropping too much, but it's about where we were losing the ball and the opponents taking a crazy approach.

"There were big chances that we weren't creating, the pass was missing, the dribbling is wrong. At some point, we played like we were 2-0 down and not 2-0 up. We tried to change the structure. I don't know if it was the right decision."
