Southampton signed Croatian international Lovren for ?8.5million. Clocking up over 70 appearances at Lyon the 24 year old won a Coup de France in his time at the French club. He can slot in at right-back and left back as well as centre half, demonstrating his versatility.
CB: Stephen Caulker, Cardiff City.
Jan Vertonghen and Michael Dawson meant the young Englishman seen his chances limited at Tottenham Hotspur, but he is sure to nail down a regular starting spot for new boys Cardiff City. At 21 years old Caulker is has already won his first England cap, and at ?8million he could prove a bargain for Malky Mackays men.
LB: Martin Olsson, Norwich City.
Chris Hughton has added Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfsinkel to give the Canaries firepower up front, but its Swede Martin Olsson who gets the nod for Norwich in the New Signings XI. Brought in from Blackburn the speedster will relish linking up with other new recruit Nathan Redmond on the left side of midfield.
CM: Fernandinho, Manchester City.
Fernandinho moved to the Eastlands from Shaktar Donetsk for a hefty ?30million. The Brazilian is hardly a rising star at the age of 28, but he is a player who alongside Yaya Toure can add a new dimension to a Man City midfield that lost its way last season.
CM: Paulinho, Tottenham Hotspur.
He looks a fine buy at ?17million for Andre Villas Boas men. A star player and a key cog in the wheel for Brazil in their successful confederations cup campaign, the former Corinthians star will look to form a formidable midfield parnership with fellow countryman Sandro.
RAM: Jesus Navas, Manchester City.
Brought in from Sevilla along with Alvaro Negredo, the Spaniard will bring electric pace and trickery to the right flank, something which Manchester City did not have under James Milner. or flop Scott Sinclair. Clocked up over 400 appearances and won 6 trophies in his time at Sevilla.
LAM: Andre Schurrie, Chelsea.
Jose Mourinhos first signing on his return to Chelsea, for ?18million Chelsea have bagged a speedy intelligent and versatile winger. Was one of the stars of the Bundesliga last season with Bayer Leverkusen, who finished one point behind Borrusia Dortmund in 3rd last season.
ST: Roberto Soldado, Tottenham Hotspur.
At ?26million the Valencia man didn't come cheap. But the Spaniard has the ability and goalscoring prowess to make a huge impact for Tottenham this season. Spurs fans were crying out for a quality out-and-out striker, and they've got a world class one in the form of the 28 year old.
ST: Wilfried Bony, Swansea City.
Perhaps a controversial selection up-front with Negredo and Jovetic signing for Man City, but I believe the Drogba-esque forward will have a big impact at Swansea in his first season. Brought in from Vitesse Arnhem for ?12million, Bony blasted 31 goals in 30 games for the Dutch side.
