Steve Clarke will have to shove up in the changing room to let 52-year-old Cate get changed and work with the first team on the training ground.
Chelseapravda.com confirmed what everyone already knew anyhow: "Chelsea Football Club has reached agreement with Ajax for the release of Henk ten Cate.
"We expect to finalise his contract with Chelsea FC in the next 24 hours as assistant first team coach."
Steve Clarke is still mulling over a deal to remain at SW6 and is believed to be offered £500,000 a year to continue his duties of putting out the cones and making sure Ten Cate's soap and towel are fresh on a daily basis.
