SWP fails to make World Cup squad

Shaun Wright-Phillips (SWP) is the shock omission from Sven-Goran Eriksson's 23-man World Cup squad.
The £21 million man signed from Manchester City has suffered this season at the hands of Jose Mourinho, becoming only a peripheral player for the champions.
This lack of match play has caused him to miss out on performing on the biggest stage of all.
SWP does not even make the stand-by list.
Incredibly Eriksson has included Arsenal's 17-year-old Theo Walcott.
But then the FA's David Dein is also in charge of the fourth-placed north London side.
No doubt Dein had a quiet word with Sven.
Four Chelsea players do make the squad.
As expected John Terry, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and Wayne Bridge are on their way to Germany.
Put your feet up Shaun.
Enjoy your time with your family and prove next season to Jose and new England boss Steve MaClaren what a howler Eriksson has made.
