Sturridge and Turnbull swell the reserve ranks

Daniel Sturridge and Ross Turnbull have signed for the Blues.
Now that is great news for the players who were bit parts for their clubs - Man City and relegated Middlesbrough respectively.
I don't think it going to get the Chelsea fans' too excited mind.

Does anybody need reminding of Turnbull's performances against Chelsea last season?
I didn't think so.
Sturridge may be a usful third ot fourth choice striker - we need one, what with The African Cup of Nations in January, but it looks llike we are going to be light in quality numbers up front.
Pato looks like Chelsea's only realistic hope of a new face and even then it's taking Ancelotti time to persuade him to join.

Chelsea have confirmed another bid for John Terry from Manchester City - and have also turned it down.
I'm sure JT knows that City may or may not be a rival this season - my own guess is that they won't.

But what JT won't like is seeing City, United and Real Madrid bring in loads of top-quality players while Chelsea bring in bench-warmers.
The boys only just snatched silverware on the last day of the season - they finished well out of the league title - in third.
The top-brass appear to think that the current squad has another year or two in their legs, and so does not need a major overhaul.
Their sense of judgement in recent seasons has being woeful - what are the chances of another error of judgement with the team - high, I would say.
Anyhow, it's a Chelsea_Mad welcome to the two new boys and good luck.
