Sound victory for Blues in Seattle

Last updated : 18 July 2009 By Paul Lagan
Daniel Sturridge and Frank Lampard scored two first half goals to sink Seattle Sounders this evening.
Sturridge, signed from Manchester City slotted home a cool right footed goal after 10 minutes and Lamps tucked home from eight yards, 20 or so minutes later.
Nearly everyone of the main squad played a part in the match which kicked-off Chelsea's pre-season campaign.
Chelsea face Inter Milan next at 3.30am Wednesday morning when they take on Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan.
It was weird to see Mr Shevchenko in a Blues's ahirt and he looked lean and sharp with flowing long locks - a throw-back to his early days.
John Terry, the subject to much transfer speculation started the match but was only given a 45 minute outing.
Lamps, of course, played the full 90 minutes.
