Shift In Power??

JT, England's only ever present this season, said "With the takeover having gone through in the summer at Chelsea, we've managed to get some good players in - and thankfully they are English as well.

"It is a massive change-around. I remember a couple of years ago when there wasn't one English player in the Chelsea starting line-up. Then you looked around at Old Trafford on Sunday and saw five of the Chelsea players in an England shirt.

"Five is a hell of a lot, but it's great, fantastic. It just goes to show how well we've been doing this year at Chelsea. Joe Cole, for example, came in against Denmark and took his chance with both hands. He wants to cement his place with England.

"Are Chelsea the new power in the land? Maybe. We will have to see, but our target is to keep our places. We've got to take our opportunities in the friendlies.''

And Joe added: "The five lads from Chelsea who were on the pitch on Sunday all live within 10 minutes of each other and we are very close and a nice little unit.

"People talk about a shift in the balance of power and maybe we might have a little say with the things we are getting chosen for now.

"Who knows what is going to happen in the future, but football does go around in cycles and it's a big thing for Chelsea to have so many players in the England set-up."

And if we can sign Michael Owen and David Beckham, the balance will have well and truly shifted!!!
