Romelu Lukaku registers record-low number of touches in win over Crystal Palace

Romelu Lukaku made just seven touches of the ball in Chelsea's late 1-0 win at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

That lowly figure is in fact the fewest recorded by a player in a Premier League game since Opta began collecting the data back in 2003.

The Belgium striker made several runs in behind the Palace defence but was scarcely found by his Chelsea teammates on a testing day for the Blues.

Thomas Tuchel's side eventually ran out 1-0 winners after Hakim Ziyech scored in the final minute of regulation time after meeting Marcos Alonso's deep cross.

Patrick Vieira's side gave a great account of themselves and had chances of their own to sneak a winner on a wet and windy afternoon at Selhurst Park, doing very well to keep Lukaku subdued.

Lukaku has now scored just five goals in 17 Premier League games since his return to west London, and Chelsea remain a whopping 13 points behind champions Manchester City in the title race.
