Ranieri Remains Uncertain

Claudio bid an emotional farewell to the Stamford Bridge faithful and his players yesterday, admitting that he might not get another opportunity to do so.

And he has reiterated those claims today, telling BBC radio "I don't know what is happening or what my destiny will be. I'm contracted until 2007. I've thanked the players for the season but I don't know whether I'll be back and that's very sad for me.

"It's important for me to stay calm and see what happens. If Roman wants me I'll stay, but I think he is waiting for the Champions League final. I'm a little disappointed with the situation but I can only thank Roman for giving me my job. I really don't know if it's open.

"I would like to finish my job at Chelsea. The foundations are laid but the house is not finished. I'm a little sad and frustrated. I don't know when I'll hear from him. If something happens then I can fly back this week."

Still as gracious as ever...
