The squad was: Cudicini, Ambrosio, Sullivan; Johnson, Melchiot, Gallas, Terry, Desailly, Huth, Bridge, Babayaro; Grønkjær, Parker, Gérémi, Lampard, Makelele, Veròn, Petit, Duff, Cole, Stanic; Hasselbaink, Gudjohnsen, Crespo and Mutu.

Add Robben to that and new goalkeeper Petr Cech, and you've got a hell of a squad.

So who faces the chop?

I would think that Hasselbaink would leave, at the age of 32. Also, I doubt Mario Melchiot and Emmanual Petit will be given new contracts.

Stanic was a waste last season, a waste on our wage bill.

Possibly getting rid of Melchiot, Desailly, Babayaro, Stanic, Petit, Hasselbaink and Gronkjaer would be enough.

But who knows what our new Tinkerman is thinking !!!
