Player Ratings: Wolves (h)

Last updated : 27 March 2004 By Rich Godden
Marco Ambrosio- Nothing he could do about Henri Camara's goal, but will be disappointed with his flap at the corner which Craddock headed in. Marco's kicking was also very poor and he failed to inspire confidence into his back line. 6

Mario Melchiot- Took his goal superbly with a lovely nutmeg on Wolves goalie Paul Jones. Was a bit casual defensively but offered a good option down the right. 7

John Terry- Partially at fault for Wolves' first goal, along with Baba. Was his usual commanding self for much of the game, although Ganea managed to out muscle him too much for my liking. 7

William Gallas- Looked a bit edgy for much of the game, and our whole defence just didn't seem to be at the races today. Made a couple of good runs forward, but his general performance wasn't what we have come to expect. 6

Celestine Babayaro- Did ok defensively, but didn't really offer enough going forward. Had his moments, but performances like this won't make Wayne Bridge lose any sleep. But deserves extra credit for making Paul Ince go nuts at the final whistle... although that isn't too hard! 6

Claude Makelele- Steady performance, with as many good moments as he had bad. His passing is getting back to it's best though, although I would like to see him put his foot in a bit more. 7

Geremi- Good crossing early on, but didn't do enough to warrant a starting place for our next game at Spurs. His set pieces were poor and he didn't actually do an awful lot for much of the game. 6

Joe Cole- Poor showing from Joe. Great pass for Melchiot's goal, but spent most of the rest of the game giving away possesion, trying to win free kicks or trying some fancy trick.... 6

Frank Lampard- Mixed performance by Frank, although his passing was amazing at times and his goal was an absolute belter! 8

Eidur Gudjohnsen- Didn't really work out for Eidur today. Went very close with one effort, but looked tired and frustrated before making way for Damien Duff at half time. 6

Hernan Crespo- Shocking performance- nothing went his way.... every pass seemed to go astray, every shot was straight at the keeper or wide. A day to forget for Hernan. 5

Subs

Damien Duff- Came on for Eidur at the break. Had to endure some frustrating moments until the rest of the team got in gear. Then we saw exactly why Duffer is one of our best players! 8

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink- Came on with Chelsea 2-1 down, finished the game with chelsea 5-2 up and Jimmy 3 goals better off. Wonderful display of finishing. OH JIMMY JIMMY! 10

Scott Parker- Came on for Joe Cole late on, got stuck in as usual but no time to make an impact. N/A
