The PFA Players' Player of the Year is an annual award given to the player who is adjudged to have been the best of the year across all the professional leagues in England. There has been no shortage of worthy contenders, however six names have now been short-listed as stand-out performers this season.

Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata is one of the conteders for this years PFA Players' Player of the Year award. The Spaniard, 24, has had an excellent campaign for the London club so far, with 18 goals in all competitions for the Blues. Mata has become the fulcrum of the new-look Chelsea side, and will be a crucial part of Rafael Benitez's plans in Chelsea's race for the top four.

Juan Mata has scored in every competition Chelsea have played in this season, and is a regular in the starting line up. His stats this season only tell part of the story, with the Spaniard also being a model professional and team player.

With 29 assists and 18 goals for Chelsea, Juan Mata is a true contender for the illustrious award handed out to the best player of the season.
