No Move For Davids

With Claude Makelele apparently now in Mouinho's plans, just weeks after being on his way out, a move for Davids is not going to happen! Despite Jose's admiration of the Dutchman, he isn't a fan of his small frame!

Jose said "It is the first time I have heard about him being linked with Chelsea.

"I wouldn't like him. He is a very good player, but I think in English football, you cannot play in midfield with two players together who are 1.70 metres. With Makelele, it would not be a good combination.

"He is a top, top player, but I don't think it is not the right balance with Makelele."

So Claude is clearly featuring highly in Jose's plans, which spells bad news for Scotty Parker... Still, at least he won't be competing with Edgar Davids as well!

But one player who could be on his way to Chelsea is Portugese star Deco. Jose has identified him as one of his favourite players, but he isn't sure of a move for him as midfield is not his priority...

Jose added "He is always on my mind because of what we did together and what I know of him as a player, but it doesn't become a priority, a player with his qualities.

"If you still have 22 or 23 million euros still to spend, then yes I want him - but you have to organise things, and go to priorities."
