Mourinho: I Am So Lucky

"Abramovich is a jewel for coaches, he asks you what players you are interested in and he begins negotiations to sign them - that does not happen in any other club in the world.

"The president knows football, but he does not enter the technical side - that is very clear.

"I cannot promise titles, only a lot of work - that has been the main characteristic of my life in football."

The Portuguese coach admitted he always wanted to follow his mentor Sir Bobby Robson to England.

"I am fulfilling a dream from when I was a boy to train in England," said Mourinho.

"My work has gained positives from working with Sir Bobby Robson, I have spoken with him and he was very happy for me.

"The English club that I have always followed more than any has been United. For this reason to eliminate them from the Champions League was special for me.

"My arrival in London is with humility, but I come with a curriculum vitae that nobody can criticise."

Mourinho comes across as a no nonsense manager. Exactly what you need in my opinion, when managing top players. I doubt Mr Mutu will be allowed to continue his playboy lifestyle, not unless he starts performing on the pitch too that is!
