Managerless Chelsea debacle drags on and on...

Okay, Chelsea have no manager - we know that. But will Chelsea ever appoint one?
Who is involved and do they talk to each other?
Such questions have been on the lips of Chelsea fans, and, I'm sure players for the past couple of weeks since good old Avram Grant got his marching orders.
Dutch Frank and Italian Roberto were early front runners.
This was swiftly followed by Italian Marcello.
Then Swede Sven entered the fray for the second time in two years, followed, I think, by Big Luis the Portugal boss.
Dane Michael and Croat Slaven were punted as possibles before Godlike Gianfranco got the nod to be number two to either Italian Roberto or Marcello.
Russian boss Guus was next in line as the man Roman wanted - apparently.
Dutch Dick Advocaat was then mentioned in the same breath as Irish Roy, I kid you not.
Closer to home French Didier was spotted in a Paris hotel necking snails with top boss Peter, so the story goes.
Then German Jurgen was supposed to be coming - Chelsea forgetting he was actually going to manage Bayern Munich - so he was a non-starter.
Then it was back to Italy to sign Fiorentina's King Cesare and then Roma's Luciano.
If you then throw in AC's Italian Carlo and followed by Welsh Mark, who went instead to the hub of stability Manchester City - we have just about tapped up most of the world best or available managers.
If all this sounds like a bit of a soap opera - and a not very good one (shades of Eldorado) then you would be right.
Still the club are: "Pleased with the way the search is going", so that's alright then.
With the Euros in full swing from tomorrow, it will be nice to get back to watching some of our boys on the football field.
(My apologies to all those managers who I have failed to mention - give it a couple of weeks - I'm sure your name will crop up in due course.)

NEWS FLASH! Dutch Frank is now back in the frame as favourite - the circle is complete. You could not make it up.

Have your say on the manager Chelsea can't seem to find on the messageboard now.
