Atlético Madrid's Jan Oblak has begun to plan for his future elsewhere, with Manchester United joining Chelsea in the race to secure the goalkeeper's services.
Since signing for Atléti from Benfica in 2014, Oblak's reputation has got better and better, and he is now regarded as one of the best in his position in the world.
Oblak's impressive form at the Wanda Metropolitano this season has formed a stark contrast with Chelsea's struggle between the sticks, with Kepa Arrizabalaga having come under heavy fire at Stamford Bridge after a series of perceived blunders.
Chelsea will now face competition for the wantaway stopper's signature, however with The Sun reporting that Manchester United have taken note of the Slovenian's availability.
The Red Devils have had to deal with goalkeeper troubles of their own this season, with David de Gea struggling to replicate his best form, and drawing particular criticism for an error-strewn showing against Chelsea in an FA Cup semi-final defeat to the Blues.
Though the Old Trafford club have the option of starting Dean Henderson, who will be back from a successful loan at Sheffield United where he has established himself as a potential England international, Oblak's unsettled status has drawn their attention.
While Oblak's services will come at a price, with Madrid demanding nothing less than the entirety of his release clause which totals €120m (or £109m), he is very much open to the idea of a move.
The keeper is unhappy with a six-year barren spell in La Liga which has seen Los Colchoneros left behind by rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid, while the Daily Mail report that Oblak has grown frustrated with the lack of leadership shown by Andrea Berta, the same sporting director who initially bought him to Madrid.
