The French midfielder has apparently turned down offers from clubs in Spain, France, Greece and the US to battle for a place in Chelsea'a already congested midfield.
If as reported Jose Mourinho goes with a 4:3:3 formation, then players of the calibre of Lampard, Joe Cole, Robben , Ballack, Essien, Malouda, Wright-Phillips and Sidwell will be looking to fit into the three-man midfield alongside Maka.
His decsion to stay will be welcomed by all Chelsea supporter's who recognise the Frenchman's unique contribution to the Blues' current successes.
