Lamps Rues Friedel Wonder Save

Lampard had put Chelsea 2-1 up after a couple of tidy finishes. And with the Blues trying to bury Blackburn, it looked like Lampard had sealed his hat trick after heading a Jesper Grokjaer cross towards goal. But somehow Friedel managed to get a hand to the ball and clawed it away from harms way.

Lamps said "I don't score many headers and as soon as I kept it down I thought it was going to be a goal.

"But it was probably one of the best saves of the season. I'm gutted because it stopped me getting a hat-trick - but it was a great save.''

Lampard added: "We had some great chances to put the game out of sight.

"We keep giving ourselves a mountain to climb by giving away early goals - but we got back on top and would have been well in the clear if we'd put our chances away.

"When the equaliser went in it looked like two points might be slipping away - but Glen's goal was special and it means we are now on their [Arsenal and Manchester United's] tails.''

It wouldn't have been the first hat trick of his career though- he once got one whilst at West Ham in a league cup game.
