Frank Lampard has failed to recover in time to face Russia for England at Wembley on Wednesday.
The Chelsea midfielder's thigh tear is still a problem and England boss Steve mcClaren ruled him out of the vital Euro 2008 qualifyer.
Lampard is expected to face Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League on Saturday..
The onus will now fall to Shaun WRight-Phillipe and Joe Cole tom provide the ball for strikers Michal Owen and Emile Heskey or mire likely Peter Crouch.
SWP has been man of the match in the past to England matches and will bee seeking a hat trick.
If he gets a hat trick of goals, he will surely have arrived and consigned the International future of David Beckham firmly into the past.
