Lamps On Zola

Lampard, quickly becoming a legend in the Blue shirt, is also coming across as quite a leader off the pitch. His presence in the media is allowing others to stay in the shadows and he is now an integral member of the whole Chelsea set-up.

Speaking to Chelsea TV, Lamps was asked who he thought has been the best foreigner in the Premiership. In case you're having doubts as to what is answer was, here is what Lamps said: "Franco's definitely the best. I think Eric Cantona would be the one nearest to him for his influence on Manchester United as a club, but Franco is different.

"He's got individual skill, has helped Chelsea win trophies and the way he holds himself makes people respect him. No-one ever has a bad word to say about him.

"He's easily the best player I've played with. I'm sure at least half of our goals come from his passes, that's what makes him so special."

Lamps then took it upon himself to urge Franco to commit himself to the club for at least another year: "I think he's got another season in him without a doubt. He hasn't let up and that speed and desire hasn't left him.

"He trains every day so, if he's here, I'm sure he's capable of playing another season at least.

"I don't know what's going on with his contract and whether he's going to stay another year or not, that's fully his decision.

"I think we'll all understand whatever he wants to do now, but I can definitely see him playing next season."

Legendary stuff!
